Product Description
A boxcar, also known as a covered wagon or, colloquially, a 'boxcar' (literally, 'stuffy can car'), is an enclosed railway wagon generally used for transporting goods. Although more complex in design and manufacture than flatcars, boxcars are among the most versatile railway freight cars due to the elimination of concerns about personnel or cargo being thrown from the train. Boxcars have side doors, the size and opening mechanism of which vary depending on their intended use. Some boxcars designed for transporting bulky goods are also equipped with rear doors and adjustable partitions.
